The hottest events for NYC dogmoms

Frequently Asked Questions

The Miss Dog Mom pageant is more than a beauty contest. It is a competition based on advocacy, communication and presentation to select the best spokesperson for the dog community. Part of our mission is to empower dog moms to successfully educate and advocate for the animal-relevant causes dearest to them. Since the inception of MDM in 2019, all of the dog moms selected to compete in this system have proven themselves to be well-rounded dog moms for the animal community. Intelligent, philanthropic, compassionate and real are just a few words that consistently describe our contestants; the Miss Dog Mom Pageant provides the unique platform to illuminate these incredible women. As Miss Dog Mom, the national titleholder has various duties. These include promoting awareness of their animal charity of choice, informing the public about the needs in the dog community, and acting as a brand ambassador on behalf of Chase & Papi. During her year long reign, she will make public appearances, such as being featured on radio and TV interviews. The commitment and personal example set by the titleholder will serve to further the mission of Miss Dog Mom.

The Miss Dog Mom pageant is so much more than just a pageant! It’s designed to grow your confidence, and teach you life-long skills such as interviewing, public speaking and presenting yourself in front of an audience, all while raising money for your animal charity/rescue of choice. In addition, you can create lifelong memories and friendships while gaining the skills necessary to succeed not only in this competition but also in life!

Absolutely not! The only age requirement is being at least 21 years old at the time of application. We typically see a wide range of body types and ages among our semi-finalists each year. We are looking for outgoing, intelligent and confident dog moms who are excited to represent our brand.

All dogs must be of good health and over 8 months of age at audition (this ensures vaccinations are all up to date). Current copies of all vaccinations must be available upon request. Dogs must also be potty trained, not show aggressive tendencies, and have good leash walking skills. Contestants are allowed to compete with only one dog. Chase & Papi never has and never will discriminate on the basis of breed or pedigree. As long as your dog does not display any aggression towards other competitors, dogs, staff, or guests, they are more than welcome to accompany you in the pageant.

There are three equally scored categories including: Interview, Style Challenge & Evening Gown, all scored by a panel of carefully selected judges. There is no talent section.

A year of service is the winner’s commitment to promote her charity of choice and make official appearances as Miss Dog Mom on behalf of Chase & Papi.

The year of service entails making 10-12 appearances a year, some chosen by Chase & Papi, and some planned and executed by Miss Dog Mom herself (with approval from the Chase & Papi Team). Miss Dog Mom serves as a brand ambassador, as well as an advocate for her charity of choice, raising awareness for causes she feels will benefit the organization. Appearances could include, but are not limited to, fundraisers, judging local pageants, TV/Media news segments, etc.

The biggest commitment is your year of service. Almost all of your appearances and charity work will take place during the weekend. Time involved should you win depends on the individual person.

Prizes differ from year to year according to sponsors that are participating in the year’s event. The key note prizes of the Miss Dog Mom Pageant are: a beautiful crownsash, and generous donation to your charity of choice. This year’s grand prize package also includes a beautiful jewelry set, plus many more premium items for Miss Dog Mom and her pup.

We STRONGLY urge women who are pregnant or are looking to become pregnant not compete for safety reasons, including but not limited to long hours of rehearsal*, dogs of various sizes being off leash at unpredictable times*, fall risk*, and the mandatory year of service for Miss Dog Mom.
